Sidmouth Netball Club - get into umpiring

GET INTO UMPIRING

Sidmouth Netball Club are keen to support any members over the age of 13 who are interested in training to become a netball official.

Officiating is a great chance to become involved in a vital part of the game, contribute to grassroots netball and learn new skills which you can take with you wherever your netball journey goes.

The officiating pathway is organised by England Netball. It starts with the 'Into' award, introducing the rules of netball and umpiring at grassroots and school level. You then have the option of progressing through the 'C', 'B' and 'A' awards if you would like to try umpiring at regional level and above.

The 'Into' award starts with an online training course, after which we will get you on court to umpire some Saturday league matches with support from the league mentors. When you feel ready, will be assessed during a match to gain your official award. As you get more confident you can move up to umpiring older age groups.

You can find more details on the England Netball website at https://www.englandnetball.co.uk/be-involved/officiating/courses/

Please get in touch if you would like more information. Laura Crosby is the SNC Umpiring Lead and she can be contacted by emailing the club. Alternatively, talk to your coach at training or ask one of our other umpires at the Saturday fixtures.
