Welcome to the new year of netball and a huge ‘hello’ to our new members. We are very much looking forward to the new season and hope to build on the successes of last year. Here is a round-up of all the information you should need for the forthcoming season.

Training will resume on the 6th November (unfortunately St John’s will be having their annual fireworks on the 7th November so there will be no training on this date). All fixtures are/will be available on our club website. www.sidmouthnetball.co.uk
Sandra will let the u14s know which group training session they are to attend.
Spring Term
06/01/24 - 12/02/24 (6 weeks)
24/02/24 - 02/04/24 (6 weeks)
Summer Term
21/04/24 - 21/05/24 (5 weeks)
Zip Wire at St John's School: One of the requirements of using the school facilities is that children do not use the zip wire that is on site, we are not insured to use this equipment and I would ask you to remind children that when walking to and from the sports hall they remain on the path and do not use any other facilities at the school. If we do not abide by this requirement it could put the club in jeopardy.
MEMBERSHIP and CLUB AFFILIATION FORMS
Thank you to everyone who filled in the membership forms at the beginning of the summer. As we embark on a new season, we would kindly ask everyone to fill in a short Sidmouth Netball Club affiliation form which includes information on Sidmouth Netball Club fees, data protection and data privacy.
ENGLAND NETBALL AFFILIATION (ENgage)
This year, more than ever, it is essential that all girls participating in netball are EN affiliated. We are not insured to play without it and the league is planning to be much stricter this year to ensure compliance. It is essential that all girls are registered by the 16th September at the latest. If not, they will not be allowed to play.
Detailed instructions on ‘joining ENgage’ are available in the documents section on our website (sidmouthnetball.co.uk). If you are a new player, you will be given a 7 digit EN ID Number when registering. If you are already a player, please don’t attempt to register a new account if you can’t remember your number. Please instead email the club and we will attempt to locate your EN number for you.
ENgage is a notoriously difficult platform and every year we get parents who struggle to affiliate. If you run into difficulties please contact england netball directly using the following email address and they will get back to you fairly quickly contact@englandnetball.co.uk. May I also add that the age groupings on ENgage do not directly correspond with paying age groups. If, for example, you have a 14 year girl who is currently in year 10 they will be playing in the u16 age category. However, for ENgage memberships they will affiliate as an u14 as their DOB dictates the category of membership.
SIDMOUTH NETBALL COMMITTEE
Our committee is made up of parents and coaches who help in the day-to-day running of the club. We are always looking for parents to join us so please do offer to help if you can.

FEES
Fees for this season will remain at £100.00 per player. Fees can be paid in full before the start of the season or in 2 instalments of £50.00 (one before the start of the season and the second in January 2024). Payment should be made using online banking into the Sidmouth Netball Club Account (Sort Code 309436 Account Number 36763268). Please enter your player's name as the reference to enable our Treasurer to match the payment to the correct player.
MATCH DRESSES
As always, the hire of the dresses is part of your club fees so please make sure you return your dress at the end of the season.
TRAINING KIT
Training kit is available from our online shop hosted by A1 stitch and print. These items are not compulsory but, should you wish to purchase kit, it is available for either collection in Honiton or for home delivery.
As a club we try to reuse unwanted training kit so please do pass any items you no longer need to one of the coaches and we will make sure it is offered up in our pre-loved kit shop via our Facebook page.
PLAYER EXPECTATIONS
Alongside our code of conduct that all players must read and agree to when completing their membership, there are certain expectations which the coaches would like to highlight. For the safety of the players, girls need to come to training and matches in appropriate sports footwear, hair needs to be tied up and nails need to be short and smooth. In particular, fashion trainers are not acceptable – they can lead to injury as they do not offer appropriate ankle support. All jewellery should be removed before arrival. In addition, it is an expectation of the coaches that players will do their utmost to be available for matches.
Please can you remind your daughters of these requirements so the coaches do not need to monitor this every week.
FACEBOOK PAGE
If you are on Facebook we do have a page and this can be found at Sidmouth Netball Club. This is a vital portal for information from the club so please make sure that you are a member and keep a look out for new postings.
WEBSITE
We also have our website www.sidmouthnetball.co.uk which is updated on a termly basis and is a useful source of information about the club but is not used to provide weekly notifications.
SPOND
For attendance at training and details of team lists and availability for matches the coaches prefer to use the app called SPOND. You will be invited to join by your coaches. Please make sure you sign up and respond to requests for availability.
If you have any questions please email sidmouthnetball@gmail.com or speak to a committee member.
Best wishes,
The Committee, Sidmouth Netball Club
