We take the safety and welfare of the children at Sidmouth Netball Club very seriously.
All our coaches, and members of the Sidmouth Netball Club Committee who need to be, complete a DBS safeguarding check in order to take on their role.
We also have an appointed safeguarding officer, Joanna Rousseau, meet her below.
Whether you're a player (past or present) or a parent/carer, if you have any concerns or questions about anything at all to do with safeguarding in the club, then please don't hesitate to email:
Any concerns or questions can also be brought to the attention of our coaches as appropriate.
REPORTING A CONCERN
If you believe a child is in immediate danger then please contact the Police and emergency services by calling 999.
You can also report a concern directly to England Netball via their England Netball Lead Safeguarding Officer at their dedicated email address: email@example.com or phone them on 01509 277850. Please read the Report a Safeguarding Concern Procedure and use the Reporting a Concern form as needed.
We follow the England Netball Safeguarding Policy, please do have a read to understand the policies and procedures we undertake to ensure your children's safety.

Meet Joanna Rousseau
My name is Joanna Rousseau and I'm the Sidmouth Netball Club's Safeguarding Officer. I've worked in education for 28 years in various roles including Teacher, Maths Adviser, Deputy Head and Headteacher, and I have therefore been responsible for safeguarding and child protection in schools for all this time.
I've undertaken many different safeguarding and child protection courses for my education roles, including Safeguarding Level 3, and also undertook a specific Safeguarding course for the netball club in December 2020.
